Hello fellow pet lovers! Have you ever thought about taking your furry friend on a ride with Auckland's public transport? Good news - Auckland's public transport system is opening its doors to our beloved pets!
Come take a look at our pet's carrier!
On the Bus ๐:
Small pets in approved carriers are welcome on board at any time. Larger dogs need to wear an approved muzzle and leash, and they can travel at specific times - weekdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, after 6:30 pm, and all-day on weekends and public holidays. But remember, pets are not allowed on the upper deck of buses or on school buses. Also, children under 16 cannot travel with pets unless accompanied by an adult.
ย
On the Train ๐:
Service dogs and disability assist dogs can travel on trains at all times. Other pets need to be in a suitable carrier or be leashed and muzzled, and they can travel during off-peak hours. Once again, kids under 16 can't travel with pets alone.
ย
On the Ferry โด๏ธ:
Service dogs and disability assist dogs can board all ferry services. Other dogs and small caged animals can travel on most ferry services, though charges may apply. Be sure to check with your ferry operator before you travel.
ย
Finally, always remember to be a responsible pet parent. Clean up after your pet to keep our public spaces clean. Control your pet well, don't let them become a nuisance to others. If your pet poses a safety risk or is causing a disturbance, you may be asked to leave. But with proper preparation, we can avoid such situations. Let's make our city more pet-friendly!
